Easy Lace Meadow Baby Blanket

An easy, quick lace baby blanket which works well in cotton for summer babies. This blanket works well as a pram blanket too.

This pattern uses the quatrefoil eyelet pattern from The Knitter’s Handbook by Hamlyn.

Finished size 85 cm in length once blocked.
8 ply Bendigo Cotton used (Honeydew pictured).
Gauge: 22 stitches to 30 cm for 10cm square.
The lace pattern is a multiple of 8.
Cast on 102 stitches.
Row 1: *K1,P1 repeat until end.
Row 2: *P1,K1 repeat until end.
Row 3: *K1,P1 repeat until end.
Row 4 and every alternate row (WS): K1, P1, K1, *P until last three stitches, K1, P1, K1
Row 5: P1, K1, P1,*K until last three stitches, P1, K1, P1
Row 7: P1, K1, P1, K3, *yf, sl1, K1, psso, K6, ending last repeat K3 instead of K6, P1, K1, P1.
Row 9: P1, K1, P1, K1, *K2tog, yf, K1, yf, sl1, K1, psso, K3, rep from *ending last repeat K2 instead of K3, P1, K1, P1.
Row 11: As Row 7.
Row 13: P1, K1, P1, K1,*K until three stitches from end, P1, K1, P1.
Row 15: P1, K1, P1, K7, *yf, sl1, K1, psso, K6, repeat from * to last four stitches, K1, P1, K1, P1.
Row 17: P1, K1, P1, K5, *K2 tog, yf, K1, yf, sl1, K1, psso, K3, repeat from * to last 6 stitches, K3, P1, K1, P1.
Row 19: As Row 15.
Rows 4 to 19 constitute the pattern. Continue until you reach the desired length (suggested length 80cm).
Once desired length is achieved finish by repeating Rows 1-3.
Cast off loosely. Dampen the blanket and block. Weave in the ends.
